We re-create this strap on a regular basis — but each one is completely one of a kind.
For the Gram Parsons / Nudie Suit guitar strap, we start with a thick but supple piece of belt leather, treated with our top-secret process to break down the fibers and soften the leather to exactly the right feel. We then dye the strap black or red, paint it a creamy white, and bevel the edges to frame the entire strap in black or red — clean, sharp, and distinctly Nudie.
Every image is cut from kidskin leather, glued down for precision, then meticulously stitched with clear thread so the artwork stays crisp and nothing competes with the design. The entire strap is then embellished with nickel silver nail heads, Nudie style — placed by hand across the full length. The back is finished with suede and our signature hand-oxidized brass buckle adjustment system — invented in our studio, imitated by others, never duplicated.
