Three weeks before Jimi Hendrix passed, he took the stage at the Isle of Wight Festival wearing this strap. That original now belongs to David Gilmour. This handcrafted Jimi Hendrix Isle of Wight Replica Guitar Strap is our faithful recreation of that piece of rock history.
We start with two layers of gorgeous, soft purple suede, layered and stitched together, then finished with the iconic X-pattern woven through using a strip of brown leather, constructed the same way Jimi's original was made. The tip shapes match exactly, rounded at one end and angled at the other. The strap adjusts using our signature brass buckle, hand oxidized to a distressed brown to complement the vintage character of the piece.
This is the purple version of the strap that eventually faded to the brown now worn by David Gilmour. Wearing this one is wearing the beginning of that story.
