Jeri does not keep straps. She makes them for other people. This is the one she kept.
This strap was born from a happy accident: David Karns, master bassist and exceptional artist, had airbrushed a stack of leather straps with blue skies and clouds. Bruk and Jeri, being Magritte fans, looked at those blue sky straps and could not help themselves.
The front is airbrushed blue sky and clouds by David Karns, with a kidskin cat in a bowler hat and double-layered kidskin green apples, both iconic images from Magritte's paintings. The back is also airbrushed, and features a kidskin pipe with the phrase every art lover will recognize: "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." This is not a pipe. It's a kidskin image of a pipe.
This strap is a work of art in the truest sense. It lives on Jeri's guitar (which she cannot play), which is exactly where it belongs.
