Jamie Johnson has been playing with The Grascals since the band's founding, and for most of that time he has been wearing a Jeri Hart strap on stage. Twenty years. Countless performances. The Grand Ole Opry more times than most musicians will ever dream of.
A couple of months ago, he came back for a new one.
That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident. Jamie is a musician who knows exactly what he wants, and what he wants is the real thing. His strap is our classic wide oil-tanned leather X strap in brown, with his initials on the front in double-layered kidskin. No flash, no ornamentation. Just beautiful, organic leather that gets better with every year of play.
Jamie is also the co-writer of "Broken Angels," the 2025 bluegrass single he recorded with Dolly Parton, a song about addiction, mental health, and recovery drawn from personal experience. In 2026, The Grascals featuring Dolly Parton won Bluegrass Single of the Year at the AGM Music Awards for that song. It was one of Dolly's final recordings, and the professional relationship between Jamie and Dolly stretched back over two decades, to the early days when The Grascals first toured as her backing band.
This photo was taken at the Grand Ole Opry, with his new strap.
