Neil Young is one of the most enduring and uncompromising figures in rock and roll history. His music, his convictions, and his refusal to do anything halfway have made him a singular voice for more than five decades. So when Neil needed a guitar strap, he didn't just buy one off the shelf.
He chose Jeri Hart Straps to recreate his iconic Peace Sign and Dove strap, and then put our name on it. A limited edition run was listed for sale on Neil's own website. That is not something we take lightly.
The straps were made with vegetable-tanned leather, thick and supple, chosen in part because it was the right environmental choice. Veg-tanned leather, made with natural tannins, has a significantly lower environmental footprint than synthetic vegan leathers, which suited Neil's values perfectly. We had a custom textile ribbon created to match the colors of Neil's original strap, which is no longer the black and white version most people remember.
