This one was insanely difficult to make. It was also worth every second.
This custom guitar strap is a collaboration between Jeri Hart and David Karns — an extraordinarily talented airbrush artist who also happens to be a touring bass player. Two artists, one strap, one completely original result.
The base was painted with three stripes — green, yellow, and red — then airbrushed over with a shading gray transparent paint to give the whole strap an antiqued, dimensional quality. Jeri then hand-cut flames, musical notes, and guitars from kidskin leather, glued each piece down and meticulously stitched it with clear thread. David airbrushed every overlay to bring them to life with rich, bright shading, all tinged with that same transparent gray to unify the palette.
The guitar overlays were taken one step further — watch parts and vintage nail heads were added to make them look like actual guitars. Because of course they were.
The back is finished with high quality suede and our signature adjustment buckle in oxidized blackened nickel — invented in our studio, imitated by others, never duplicated.
