We had wanted to make a Rosebud strap for a long time. We also knew she would be tough. A skeleton character built from tiny bones, on a strap. The pieces would have to be small. The work would have to be precise. We made her anyway.
The base is a thick, supple 3.5" motorcycle chap leather. Rosebud is rendered entirely in tiny kidskin pieces, each one cut to shape her form, glued, and meticulously sewn down with thin clear thread. The roses are the same, each petal its own individual piece of kidskin, sewn securely. The rest of the strap is scattered with small kidskin roses, so the whole thing blooms.
This is one of those straps we made because we had to know if we could. We could.
This strap was purchased by Gary Strang, who has a knack for finding the best one-of-a-kind pieces before anyone else does.
