This strap was commissioned as a gift by Patrik Tanner's wife, for one of our favorite singer/songwriters ever.
Patrik Tanner is a Nordic musician with serious talent and even better taste in straps. The penguin motif, "pengvin" in his native tongue, is a personal touch that makes this strap unmistakably his.
This is one of our early straps, built from belt leather dyed red and painted black, with the edges beveled and finished in red to frame the strap in a clean outline of color. All kidskin overlays were hand-cut, glued, and meticulously sewn to the strap, then finished with tiny silver nailheads placed all around the images. That nailhead detail alone is something else.
The photos do not do it full justice, as this was created in our early days. The craftsmanship, however, was anything but early.
