Sweetnam is Scottish. Sweetnam plays guitar. Sweetnam needed a strap worthy of both.
We started with our standard belt leather base, softened using our signature methods and painted black. The edges were beveled and dyed red, framing the entire strap like a painting. Then came the real work.
To create the tartan underlay beneath his name, we hand-wove strips of kidskin leather and used top-stitching to lock the pattern in place. It's not printed. It's not stamped. It's woven. The Scottish thistles and rugby references layered on top are all hand-cut kidskin, built up one piece at a time.
