Some guitar straps are accessories. This one is history.

Nearly 20 years ago, Jeri Hart created a custom guitar strap for George Jones' 75th birthday, inspired by his iconic White Lightning Nudie Suit. Tanya Tucker presented it to George at the Grand Ole Opry, and that original strap now lives on display at the George Jones Museum in Nashville.

This one-of-a-kind guitar strap is a spiritual successor to that piece, built with some of the same exact Kidskin leather used on the original. That leather, kept for nearly two decades, was used here to hand-sculpt the face, paws, and tail of the Possum on the strap face, a tribute as personal as it gets.

We started with blank belt leather, treated with our top-secret softening process and painted black. The edges are beveled and dyed gold, nodding to the glamour of the Nudie Suit tradition. The strap is 3.5 inches wide and backed with high quality black suede.

This strap has not been finished to length, so it can be cut to either Standard or Long. Select your preferred length from the dropdown.
