In 1967, Jimi Hendrix took the stage at the Monterey Pop Festival, played a set that changed rock and roll forever, and during his encore, set his guitar on fire. That moment is one of the most iconic in music history.

In 1997, to celebrate Monterey Pop's 30th anniversary, the Fender Custom Shop commissioned an artist to hand-paint 210 reproductions of Hendrix's hearts-and-swirls Stratocaster. Each guitar came with a strap. This handcrafted strap is an exact replica of that strap.

The top layer is high quality white suede, cut to 2.5 inches wide, backed with a semi-slick black leather just like the original, with turquoise suede lacings. We made one considered improvement: on the original, the lacings are enclosed between the front and back layers, which makes repairs difficult when strings eventually break. Ours are not enclosed, so if a lacing ever needs attention decades from now, the repair is simple. The strings on ours won't break anytime soon, but we plan ahead.

Made to order in all three lengths. Allow about a week to get yours completed and on the way.
